11 doctoral positions in the interdisciplinary graduate school VISTA-GRK

Shaping the future – researching health – understanding environmental and social change

The new structured research training group VISTA-GRK (“Health Services Research in the Context of a Changing Environment and Aging Society”) is looking for 11 committed doctoral candidates who would like to rethink and actively shape healthcare for chronically ill patients as part of an innovative, interdisciplinary research program. 

The focus is on how prevention, early and long-term therapy, and interprofessional collaboration can be used to sustainably improve health in a changing environment and aging society.


What you can expect:

You will conduct application-oriented and cooperative research in a team on projects developed jointly with affected individuals, professionals, and decision-makers. The aim is to develop practical solutions based on the latest scientific methods and in dialogue with the real world. The research projects focus on co-creation, interdisciplinarity, and social relevance, with a particular focus on the challenges of demographic change in Saxony-Anhalt and the effects of the climate crisis and changing environmental conditions. You will be affiliated with a PZG institution and work in the graduate college.

The doctoral program is embedded in the Profile Center for Health Sciences (PZG), which is unique in Germany and offers state-of-the-art technical, methodological, and spatial research infrastructure with nine renowned institutions:

Graduates in the fields of health sciences, medicine, nursing science, midwifery science, sociology, psychology, environmental sciences, economics, public health, or related disciplines with an interest in sustainable and transformative health research.
